Antimage

People who lived by the wand shall die by my blade.

Introduction

Anti-mage is a hard carry that requires massive farm. He is the only carry that has the potential to out farm an Alchemist (Just like Dk BurNing antimage out farmed Alliance Loda's Alchemist). The strength of anti-mage comes from his mana burn passive (62% of the mana burn convert to damage) and very high magic resistance from his spell shield (50% magic resistance). Lion and Lina's ult may deal a lot of damage on most of the hero, but for Anti-mage it is nothing. I won't go into much detail about his skill but I will try to making it understandable (sorry for my poor english language...)

Mana break = This unique attack allows Anti-mage to have a mana burn effect every time he hits. Plus lower the mana for the enemy, more damage he can deal. This passive cannot stack with other unique attack such as Diffuser blade and Satanic, however it does apply to area of effect life steal (Vlad, not really recommended but you still can get it if you really need it). This ability goes well with manta style because it is shared with all the clones.

Blink = This active skill allows you to farm faster than any other carry other than Alchemist. Plus, it has an incredible short 4 seconds cooldown that allow him to initiate or escape. It can be one of the most overpowered escape mechanism but beware of silence.

spell shield = This passive gives you an overpowered 50% magic resistance. It is basically a free AC without attack speed.

Mana void = The lower the mana of a hero, the more damage he can deal. It is an AOE and it has the potential to turn a team fight around. It is good for confirm kill a hero and it can cancel TP (0.5 stun).
This skill works well with mana break because mana break will make the opponent to lose their mana.

Play style

Early game = Early game, you will have to get as much farm as possible in order to become active at late game. Try to get your battle fury around 10 - 20 mins. If you can't get your battle fury around that time, forget about it, go straight to manta style. Try to lane in safe lane if possible, or you can go jungle at lvl 1 if there is an axe backdoor at your lane,(it is possible! Will show you later)

Mid game = Around 20 mins, you should acquire your battle fury. So you will start to farm inside the jungle or farm in lanes (prefer lane cause you get more gold). Farm in lane where there is no enemy heroes and try to get as much creeps as possible. Remember always carry 2 extra Tp scrolls, you will need those to bring you to different lane to farm when enemy heroes come and gank you. You can blink into the trees at the side of the lane to Tp. However, if you got track by a bounty hunter or you see a spirit breaker is charging at you. Head back to your tower and I am sure they won't charge in. If all lanes are occupy, you can go int jungle and farm. When you blink around the creep camps, remember to you swap your boots to intelligent so you will safe more mana. Then swap back to strength or agility when you are hitting the camps. Remember to stack (when it is around 53 for range and 55 to 56 for melee). Ask your support to ward river jungle and place you will farm. Do not gank or get into team fight unless you are certain you can get a kill.

Late game = Around this time 30 mins, you should have either your manta reaver or heart if possible. This time you will help in team fights, get rosh and kill enemy hero. Around this time everyone in your team rely on you so you must be extra cautious. Once you die, you will lead your team to losing because enemy carry will kill everyone now. Always save for buy back and if enemy carry don't have clones, sell your battle fury(gives you a good 2k gold) to have buy back and buy more items.

Skill build
For level 1, you will have to add a blink in order to get rune. Stay at the side of the river avoid being seen by enemy, then when it reach around 2 second for ruin to spawn, blink in and get the rune and run away. If you are jugling, you will have to use this skill to blink up the cliff in order to jungle.

Level 2, mana break. This allow you to last hit range creeps easier and harass enemy hero if they get close to you.

Level 3, mana shield. You will received constant harass from enemy team hero so it is good to reduce a bit of the damage received.

Level 4 and 5, stats. You are very soft at early game so make sure you add 2 stats in order to resist the harass from enemy hero. Plus it gives you a good 4 dmg for last hits.

Level 6, you will have your ult, this allow you to get kills if your team's mid comes and gank your lane.

Level 7 and 8, you will have to add 2 stats again so you can farm more efficiently in jungle

Now you try to max blink so you can move around the jungle faster and escape when you are farming. It is the best your farm is not interrupted.

Once you max blink, you will max mana shield because you will have to have more survivability. It allows you to take more damage from creep camps.

Then, you will max your mana break in order to deal more damage. This skill is one of the main reason why you are a hard carry. You won't need this skill at early game and mid game because you rarely help gank, you only need to add one for you to have a better last hit and harass in early game.

Item build

Starting item

Tango (you don't need it when you're jungling, will show you why =P) = Just for you to heal thats all.

Stout shield = This item allows you to resist the harass and damage enemy dealt to you. You also need   it when you're in the jungle.

Quelling blade= This item is for you to build into battle fury. And also gives you a better last hit.

5 mins = /

Ring of health = Screw boots, this item can bring you a good health regeneration. Get your battle fury first, you can farm your boots later in the jungle or lane but remember always buy this item first at the side of the safe lane shops. You will need it for battle fury. This allow you to stay on lane a little bit longer.

10 to 20 mins =P

Battle fury = Now you have your battle fury, you are ready to farm like mad fuck. So head to the jungle or lane, blink around and farm.

Power treads = Remember to swap to intelligent when you blink in the jungle. Swap back to agility or strength if you are hitting a creep wave or camp.

24 to 30 mins

Manta Style = Wazaaaa you just got your core item. Now you can get into a bit of your team fight. This item is crucial to you, it can make 2 clones and both of them shares mana burn effect. That way you can burn more mana from enemy team and deal extra lot of damage.

Heart = Well you are active now and every enemy heroes fear you. You are ultra tanky and deal a lot of damage as well. If you have low health during a team fight, blink out and heart will give you a good health regeneration which allow you to go back into the team fight faster rather than go back to the fountain.

Situational

Basher or Abysmal = This item gives you bash and some bonus damage. So you can get it if you really need it to bash heroes such as Ursa or life stealer (maybe ups to you). If you are bloody rich but it is too risky to get a divine, you can upgrade it to abyssal blade.

Butterfly = If you need more attack speed, why don't you consider a butterfly? It gives you a good 25% evasion, high attack speed and 25 agility.

Monkey king bar = IF the opposite team's carry brought a butterfly. Then will need to buy a monkey king bar. Even though it wasted one slot but you still stay a chance against their carry which makes their butterfly useless.

Black king bar = If opposite team has overpowered magic caster like storm spirit, earth spirit, Lina and ogre magi. Don't hesitate to go for a Clack King B
ar. However use it wisely, every time you use it, the amount of time it activate will decrease.

Jungle at lvl 1

During a pub match, I saw someone use this technique and it works perfectly fine. I somehow try it out my self and find this technique only works on pub. (never try it on rank and only works on dire!!!) First you get only stout shield to withstand the range normal camp sader, may have little damage but it will become a lot and quelling blade you cut all the trees I cross out.

Then you will start hit the creeps on the cliff. You will not take any damage up cliff however if it is the normal sader camp, you will take damage from it but not as much. Remember to stack the camp on 53 seconds or this technique will not work. Once you have there are no jungle creeps left in the camp. I have seen many guide for jugling for anti-mage on youtube so be sure to check out those yourself if you are not sure.
